Energy Shift wins big at the sixth AfriSam-SAIA Sustainable Design Awards. Despite stiff competition, the start-up walked away with the Sustainable Design Award.

The winning projects in the sixth AfriSam-SAIA Sustainable Design Awards were announced recently at a virtual awards ceremony. The awards advocates for design projects that are responsive to the social complexities, growth requirements and the needs of marginalised communities in South Africa and throughout the Africa diaspora.

EnergyShift is a start-up company within the renewable energy sector and have developed a solution that reduces the temperature of photovoltaic (PV) cells (solar panels) and in doing so makes them more efficient, all while generating hot water for either industrial or home use.
