Astrofica (Astro + Africa) was conceptualised by Jessie Ndaba and Khalid Manjoo while interning together on the Department of Science and Technology’s 2006 SumbandilaSat program.
The two always shared similar values, aspiration and enthusiasm for how Space science and technology could impact socio-economic and human capital development on the African continent. The pair established Astrofica in 2016.
