Dear Visitor
SAVANT participated at African Utility Week and the Power Indaba in Cape town which was held from 18-22 May. Over 40 countries participated and about 2 000 people visited this event. SAVANT shared a stand with the Electrotechnical Export Council sharing the hall with 200 other exhibitors. As always, SAVANT was handing out sub-sector brochures promoting South Africa’s utility sub-sectors and promoting our companies that are members of SAVANT.
Next year African Utility Week will be hosted in Durban from 22-26 February 2010. It is a couple of months earlier than usual and if you would like to participate next year, you can apply for funding assistance under the dti’s individual exhibitor support.
Look out especially for the article on the company, THUSA that is published in this month’s newsletter. It is a good example of what business success can be expected from participation in tradeshows and exhibitions. THUSA was part of the National Pavilion that the dti sponsored earlier this year at CeBIT in Hannover, Germany.
Please note that SAVANT is starting to arrange participation in Gitex Technoloy Week in Dubai from 18-22 October 2009. Four companies shared the space with SAVANT in 2008 and it was a great success. If you are interested to participate, please visit www.gitex.com to find more information on the exhibition. Please send an email expressing your interest to nnortje@thedti.gov.za You are also welcome to contact the Foreign Economic Representative in Dubai, Shakira Motan at satrade@thedti.ae for more information on doing business in the UAE.
A kind request is extended to all readers to update their company profiles on www.savant.co.za
The SAVANT team is committed to making your business marketing a success and positioning the South African ICT and Electronics sector as an international sought after investment destination.
